Privacy Policy

1) What this policy covers (and what it doesn’t)

  • Covers: visitors, prospective clients/caregivers, and current clients interacting with us online or by phone/SMS/email.
  • If you become a client/patient, certain information may be Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA. For PHI, please refer to our Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA NPP) [link to NPP] which governs how we use/disclose PHI. This web Privacy Policy does not replace the HIPAA NPP.

2) The information we collect

  1. A) You provide it: name, contact details (phone, email), ZIP, who needs care, relationship, preferred contact time, notes, and any documents you upload or email to us.
    B) Automatic data: device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, referral source, and interactions (e.g., clicks on “Call” or “Email”).
    C) From others (where allowed): referral partners, care coordinators, and state/local agencies to confirm eligibility, enrollment, or hours; background-check vendors for caregiver onboarding; payroll/EVV platforms to process payment and timekeeping.

3) How we use your information

  • Eligibility & enrollment: confirm Medicaid status, Michigan residency, caregiver relationship, and care needs; prepare and submit forms; coordinate with state systems.
  • Care operations: scheduling, case support, timekeeping, payroll, and client communication.
  • Customer support: call/SMS/email you about your request; answer questions; resolve issues.
  • Improvement & safety: analytics, quality assurance, preventing fraud/abuse.
  • Marketing (lightweight): with your consent, we may send informational emails/SMS about getting started, deadlines, or related services. You can opt out anytime.

4) Text messaging (TCPA) & call details

  • By providing your number and clicking submit or contacting us, you consent to receive calls and/or texts (including via auto-dialer) at the number provided about enrollment, eligibility, and services. Message/data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP to any text to stop. Reply HELP for help. You can also email info@careathome.com or call 1-800-888-1818 to update preferences.
  • We may record or monitor calls for training and quality assurance. If you prefer not to be recorded, please tell the advisor at the start of the call.

5) How we share information

We share only what’s necessary to deliver the service or as required by law:

  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, forms, call/SMS, e-signature, background checks, EVV/timekeeping, and payroll (weekly pay).
  • State agencies & program partners: to confirm eligibility, enroll services, verify hours, or comply with Medicaid requirements.
  • Compliance & legal: to protect rights, safety, or comply with law, subpoenas, audits, or investigations.
  • Business transfers: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, your information may transfer with customary protections.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not allow service providers to use your data for their own marketing without your consent.

6) Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar tech for essential site functions (forms, security) and to understand page performance. You can manage cookies through your browser. Some features may not work without them. “Do Not Track” signals may not be honored by all services we use.

7) Your choices & rights

  • Update or delete info: Email info@careathome.com or call 1-800-888-1818.
  • Marketing opt-out: Unsubscribe links in emails; STOP for SMS.
  • HIPAA rights (clients/patients): See our HIPAA NPP for access, amendment, accounting of disclosures, and other PHI rights.
  • State privacy rights: Depending on your state (e.g., CA/CO/CT/VA/UT), you may have additional rights to access, delete, or limit certain uses. Contact us to exercise these rights. We’ll verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

8) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data (e.g., encryption in transit, role-based access). No system is 100% secure; please share only the information necessary to start your case.

9) Data retention

We keep information as long as needed to provide services, meet legal/contractual obligations (e.g., Medicaid records), resolve disputes, and maintain required logs. When no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.

10) Children’s privacy

This site isn’t directed to children under 13. If you believe we’ve collected a child’s information without consent, contact us and we’ll delete it.

11) Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the Effective Date and post a notice on this page. Continued use of our site/services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
